Oh yes, you definitely need at least a simple will. Do you own a home? Is it in your name? Without a will your estate will have to pass through probate, which involves legal fees and takes a long time.
Definitely have a basic will made. And at the same time, make a healthcare power of attorney (and a living will — describing your end of life treatment wishes). The same lawyer will do all of that.
