New Stimulus Bill Deals for COBRA
I recently lost my job after being with my organization for more than two decades. I read your report on the COVID relief bill and how this can apply to COBRA benefits being paid through September – What are the steps to take to get this help for myself and my family? Thanks!

This was an unexpected bonus in the bill. I’m told that the company will be reimbursed for COBRA for laid off employees from April 1 through Sept 30th. Check with your HR department on how they will handle this. Get it in writing, and don’t let y our insurance lapse for non-payment. Your company might require you to pay then reimburse you. Or check out the new Healthcare.gov Obamacare plans, which now have easier eligibility and higher subsidies.
