No-Cost refinance

By Terry Savage on September 14, 2020 | Housing / Real Estate

In your August 23rd newsletter, you mentioned a no-cost refi. Is there really such a thing???
We have talked with two financial institutions and have been told there are costs associated with refinancing a mortgage which we would be responsible for paying.
Who would offer a no-cost refi and would their interest rates be higher because of this?

Terry Says

It all depends on how long you have been in the home, whether you need a new appraisal, and title search. But you should compare monthly payments with ALL COSTS INCLUDED.

I send people to GuaranteedRate.com, which is a very efficient and low-cost company In fact, I send people directly to my expert there — Leslie Struthers — who, believe me, does NOT need any more business. She is swamped. You can use my name in your email to her (Leslie@rate.com) to get her attention. I get nothing out of this. She doesn’t even have time for lunch!
Anyway, that’s where I have my friends start their refi process.
