Obtaining a Court Order to get bank checks?

By Terry Savage on March 12, 2023 | Wild Card

My recently-deceased sister OVERPAID our joint real estate taxes for the last 10 years! Chase (her bank) requires a Cook County Court Order in order for me to obtain 2-sided copies of her handwritten checks to the “Cook County Treasurer.” They will only go back 7 years; the total equals $14,000. **Attorneys demand thousands of $$$ for me to obtain this C.O. in hand to their local branch. I’m a disabled senior on an extremely low fixed income. Please help me, Terry? A.S.A.P.? Thank u!!

First, how did you figure out that she overpaid all those years? Were you able to compare the property tax bills with the amounts paid as noted in her check register?
How did you get that total?

Please write back to the email you receive saying your question has been answered. Give me the details, and your phone number, and your sister’s name and bank account number. Don’t worry, I’m the only one who will see it.
If you can make a reasonable case for this, I’ll see if I can get Chase to waive its policies.

BUT you must show why you have reasonable cause to believe the payments were in excess of what was billed. And you’ll have to provide estate documents showing that you are her executor in order to do this.
