Older person with young children claims SS
A very wealthy friend (with a younger working wife) turned 62 and and started collecting social security. He is now a parent of 6 yr old twins. He is collecting $1,200.00 per child a month plus his own SS benefits because he is an “aging/older” parent. Why is that fair that they get $2,400.00 a month just because he decided to have children at an older age with a younger wife.
Terry Says
It’s the way the system works. Think of this: if had married three times, and stayed married for 10 years to each, and if his exes had not remarried — ALL THREE could claim SS on HIS work record –50% of his benefit at when they turn age 62.
