open an account application
Treasury Direct will not accept the expiration date on my Illinois I.D. as valid. I no longer drive so the expiration date is shown as 99-99-9999. I am unable to complete the process to open an account and earn that 9.62% Can you help? Thanks.

It’s not required. Try again and leave it out completely — no numbers at all. YOu’re not he first person who has asked so I inquired from Treasury.
