opinion of Fixed Index Annuities

By Terry Savage on September 28, 2025 | Financial Planning / Retirement

My husband died in feb. 2025 at 76; second marriage for each of us-i’m 71; he owned his own company that his sons will now run; I will be getting his retirement money from his profit sharing plan. it will be around $600,000. I have my own rollover IRA from the years that I worked; the accountant told me I will roll his over into a separate new account somewhere (not adding to mine-he had started distributions and i haven’t) I’ve been hearing about fixed index annuities for rollovers – from my understanding i would have his money and then get a percentage extra (7%??) and i could earn from a higher market (not as much as being outright in the market) but i’d also be protected of not going lower then the initial amount. I like the idea of not going lower then the original amount. besides this i have have about 1.5million in other money and own two houses outright so what is your opinion on the fixed index annuities? I always heard annuities are to stay away from

You are in a very vulnerable spot — a lot of money, some specific financial planning needs, and very little knowledge. I will reach out privately and try to point you in the right direction before you make a very expensive mistake!
