Ask Terry Questions Personal Financial Software

Personal Financial Software

By Terry Savage on March 09, 2014 | Investments

I’m fed up with Quicken’s personal financial specifically dealing with stock transactions–spinoffs, stock dividends, etc. Would you suggest software–either freeware or payware–that can handle these transactions better than Quicken?

Terry Says:  Yes, I understand your frustration. Quicken is really not set up best for frequent traders.  Or for complex investments, such as stock dividends.  I was going to just recommend the portfolio tracker at Morningstar.com, but decided to do a little digging.   Here’s a great article from the AAII — American Association of Individual Investors — which analyzes various services (and yes, it does recommend Morningstar, among others).  I think y ou’ll enjoy reading this research:  http://www.aaii.com/computerizedinvesting/article/the-top-online-portfolio-trackers
