Ask Terry Questions PUA Benefits

PUA Benefits

By Terry Savage on February 13, 2021 | Wild Card

Hi Terry. I received an email from IDES regarding filling out and emailing back a form about Proof of income. I haven’t worked since March 12th., 2020. I had to leave my job because of Covid. I’ve been collecting PUA payments uninterrupted since then. Do I have to send them information that I don’t have? My printer is not working and I’m not sure if I have to do anything at all. Thank you ahead of time.

Are you sure this came from IDES? Give them a call and put your name on the call-back list. It will take a few weeks anyway. Meanwhile you should get benefits. One thing troubles me — PUA is for self-employed people, yet you talk about “leaving your job.” If you were paid independently on a 1099 form, then you qualify for PUA. And it would be better to say you “lost your job” because of Covid!
