QCD/RMD timing
Every thing I can find on this question is ambiguous. Say I have a 10,000 RMD and I want to set up 1000 QCD for 2023. When must I set up the QCD(s) withdrawal in relation to the balance of my RMD? Please be as specific and complete as possible. Thank you very much.

Your retirement plan custodian will handle a QCD for you. So you’ll have to ask them their timetable for getting your instructions, the forms you need to fill out, and then how long it takes them to fulfill your instructions. Hint: don’t wait until the last week of the year.
