Recession
Hello, is the market going into recession? I have some money in stocks and I don’t want to lose them. Move them to CD or wait?
Terry Says
Well, let’s get the terms straight. It’s the “economy” that goes into a “recession” — which means declining growth. That’s bad for stocks, so if the economy suffers so does the stock market. If you don’t feel you can afford to lose ANY money in the stock market — or wait 5 or more years to regain your losses if you ride out a decline — then this would be an ok time to move that money into a bank CD. You give up possible future gains, in exchange for protection from ANY loss!
