Refund for 2022 IRS return
Hi Terry. I’d like to make sure that you saw my question from last Friday submitted on this form:
I am still waiting for 2022 federal tax refund for my deceased mother’s estate. “Where is My Refund” says:
Contact Us
If you have questions or need additional information, please have the following on hand when you call:
A copy of this page.
A copy of your tax return.
The Social Security Number, Filing Status, and refund amount claimed on your return.
Any notice that you have received concerning your refund.
Please mention reference number 1581 to the IRS Customer Service Representative.
IRS Hours of Service:
Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Call: 1-800-829-0582, when asked for an extension, enter 312.
There seems to be no way to contact a person when I call the 800 number. The only info I get says that the form is being processed. It was mailed 8/21/23. Phone recording says that I should have had results in 6 weeks . Hard copy had to be used because it is estate. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to expedite this. I am trying to settle the estate. Thanks, Terry!

I believe I answered this question already. If you still haven’t received the final refund, start by contacting the Taxpayer Advocate Service at the IRS. Here’s a link:

There’s really no way you can get an answer just by calling!
