Retirement soon protect our profits.

By Terry Savage on March 12, 2020 | Chicken Money

Hi Terry, my husband plans to retire this year at 62 & I plan to retire at 65 ( in four years) we have our IRAs invested Moderately conservative through our financial planner. You keep talking about protecting our profits. You say to move the money so it is liquid. What types of investments would give us liquidity and protect our profits? We are looking to protect the time for earning has passed as we do not have time to gamble our nest egg. Should we be looking to move money markets / treasury bills for liquidity? Thanks so much.

Terry Says

It’s a little late for that now. Your financial planner should have created some liquidity for you — money in the bank in CDs or a money market deposit account. And if this market declines as I expect, you should be re-thinking your husband’s plans to retire now.
