Retirement – What to do with my 401K

By Terry Savage on February 21, 2025 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I’m wondering if my 401K, which is about $1.3M can be rolled into a high yield savings account to collect that interest. I’m looking for the safest place to put my money for retirement without losing anything. What will that do tax wise. We are retiring in August and adding up my 401K, small pensions for both, savings, CD, Annuity and I-bonds, the total comes out to about $25,000 more per year (over 20 years) than we currently make in our jobs.

FIRST, you should speak with a Fee-ONLY, FIDUCIARY advisor. REad this:

That is the only way I can be sure you are getting trusted advice.

When you retire, you should do a rollover to an IRA at Fidelity or Vanguard.
