Revocable Living Trust
Does each spouse have their own revocable living trust using their own social security number or does one trust cover both spouses?

You can do it either way. If you have separate property (say in a second marriage) then you might have two trusts. Or you can both be joint trustees of one trust — Such as The Smith Family Revocable Living Trust, John Smith and Susan Smith, co-trustees. Talk with your estate planning attorney.
