Please inform him that it is FEDERAL TAX FRAUD to list a person as a dependent if you do not contribute more than half of that person’s support. And he has no way of knowing what other total income you have. Ask him to AMEND his return and remove you.

I have discussed issues like these with the IRS — people claiming others, signing others on their return, withholding stimulus payments, etc —
There is a Federal penalty for both tax fraud and interfering with a stimulus payment.
If he refuses to re-file and allow you to file, or at a minimum split his stimulus payment with you — then please write back. I am keeping a file to turn over to the IRS.
