RMD/IRMAA/CHARITABLE DONATIONS
My wife and I are both 75 and feeling comfortable with our retirement accounts and feeling financially secure.
Our RMDs will now expose us to IRMAA and we have heard that we could deduct all/some of the RMDs with contributions to qualified charities to offset the amount which would move us up to the next tax bracket. Is this a viable way to avoid getting bumped up into the next bracket and avoid the impact of IRMAA on other benefits. Does it make sense ? Thanx. Gary Rankin
