Robinhood unauthorized trade
Hi Terie,
I’ve been following you for years and I always look forward to hearing about your replies or reading about your advice in the paper.
I made the mistake of buying Apple stock with Robin Hood in March.
In June I decided I wanted to transfer the stock from Robin Hood to my financial advisor. I called Robin Hood to do the transfer and instead they had me change my password and then sold my Apple stock. I told the agent that I didn’t want to sell and he needed to cancel the order for he hung up on me. When I tried to call back my number had been blocked. I filed a complaint via email on their site but I have never heard anything. I still haven’t received the money.
What are my options?
Thank you,
Maureen Owens

I think you have very few options, unless a LOT of money is involved. You can keep pressing them, but their customer service is notoriously bad. I hope you kept a paper record of the name and number of the person you spoke to (or at least the exact time and date, since all calls are recorded). But I doubt you’ll get much attention from them.
