Robo Investor
Can your financial advisor use a Robo Investor to manage your account?
Terry Says
Many financial advisors use planned or structured investment programs. But the advisor should be there to explain them to you — and hold your hand when markets fall, or advise you to take profits if they think it is warranted when markets rise. Typically, the term “robo-advisor” means no personal attention; just a computerized formula. Of course, you would pay less for this type of advice, typically less than 0.50% of assets. A personal investment adviser might charge double that amount.
Anything more than 1% is too much to pay for advice, in my opinion.
