Roth IRA RMD as QCD?
Is a Roth IRA taken as a RMD and given as a QCD tax deductible like traditional IRA RMDs QCDs?
Terry Says
A Roth IRA is after tax. When you withdraw it becomes your money. You can deduct as appropriate on your tax return — depending on whether you itemimze.
A QCD is given directly from a traditional IRA. Thus it avoids the taxes on the withdrawal — and can be counted as part of an RMD (up to $100,000).
