Ask Terry Questions Saving bonds

Saving bonds

By Terry Savage on June 06, 2022 | Chicken Money

Hi Terry, How do I check if savings bonds where purchased for me when I was a child and I don’t have the bond.
Thank you,

Terry Says

Wow, that’s a tough one. Unless they used your Social Security number (which wasn’t required back in the day), there would be no way of finding the bonds without any record. You can find detailed instructions for replacing lost or stolen bonds here. But s you’ll see, you must have either your SS number, or the number of the parent that purchased them for you. Or the serial numbers of the bonds.
