Savings account or CD
Savings account or CD i’m 84 and probably not a relative. I refined my condo so I would have some back up money. I need to know what the best savings account is where I still would have access or should some of the money be put in a CD. I’m talking about $15,000. Thank you Terry, I read your column all the time

You won’t earn much interest right now — if any — in either a CD or a MM account. But I think you should keep it all “liquid” in a MM account so that you can get to it if you need it.
By the way, have you created a will — and do you have a healthcare power of attorney, and a business power of attorney — just in case you cannot act for yourself? I didn’t understand your term “relative” in your question. But it’s time to get organized about these things — just in case.
