Savings Bonds Series EE from Deceased parent

By Terry Savage on November 20, 2021 | Chicken Money

Hello. My father passed away in 2001 and he had these savings bonds. How and where do I go to cash them in? Also, they were issued in 2000. It states Interest Ceases 30 years from date. Do I need to wait 30 years to cash them in?

Terry Says

A lot of that answer depends on how the bonds were titled! Here’s a link to the government website section where you’ll find a complete answer on how to deal with savings bonds of a deceased person.
