Terry Says

I mean if you were up worried about the impact of losses, then you have too much exposure to stocks. Over the long run — at least 20 years — history says you will come out ahead in a diversified stock portfolio (like an S&P 500 stock index fund. But can you ride it out for 20 years? Will you panic and sell at the bottom — which could be down 40 percent or more from the peak? If not, move SOME, not all, of your stock market investments to a money market fund. That should let you sleep at night!
