Series I Bonds processed into my IRA thru Fidelity
In your Jan 4 discussions on John Williams / WGN I thought you mentioned that a Series I Bond could be purchased in an IRA if it is processed thru a Fidelity office. I have not been able to get any clarification on this. If I have a Traditional IRA and a Roth IRA currently with Fidelity can I have Fidelity purchase an I Bond to hold in one or each of these IRAs ? If I can do this do you think this is a good strategy?
Terry Says
Wrong. You can buy T-bills through the brokerage option in your IRA. But you must buy I-bonds directly from the Treasury.
