SETTLEMENT MONEY
My husband received a settlement for 152K from an accident at work that has ended his working . I have been sitting on this check for several weeks because I don’t know where to put it that it would be safe.
We want to be able to get to some of it if needed.

Buy half in 13 week bills, and the other half in 26 week bills. Set up automatic renewal at maturity; you can always change that until a week before maturity.
Leave the balance in the money market fund for liquidity.
