Short term place to place $600,000 for 4 or 5 months

Hi Terry, I enjoy hearing your comments on WGN! I am going to close on my current house soon and will be using the proceeds to purchase a smaller house that is under construction. I would like your recommendation on a place to park $600,000 for 4 or 5 months, when my new house will be completed. Would you recommend a CD or T bill? If I go with a CD, should I buy in multiples that fall within the FDIC insured value, 250K? Is FDIC insured based on per account? Would I have to open a few accounts in different institutions?
