You are breaking both rules!
You might want to have — depending on your age, stage, and personal risk tolerance — a portfolio that is diversified among large company stocks that pay dividends, some short term (less than 2 years) bonds, and/or T-bills, and perhaps a small amount in gold mutual funds (which have already risen sharply in value this year).
