Social Security
My husband died 17 yrs ago and hadn’t received social security yet. He would of been 70 now. I am 63 could I receive his social security now? even if I am still working? Would I have to forgo my social security if I take his or can I do mine when I retire then? If I took his now and then remarried would I have to give up my first husbands social security? If then this husband passes before me would I be intitled to that social security?

First, were you married for 10 years? If so, and you have not remarried, (or age 50 if you are disabled), you can receive up to 100% of your deceased ex-spouse’s benefit amount. If you apply after age 62, but before your own full retirement age, your benefit will be reduced –and they will pay the larger of yours, or his. But if you wait until your own Full Retirement Age, you could get 100% of his, or yours if larger.
