Social Security
I plan to retire at 62, but want to collect social security from my deceased ex-husband account. Are there any concerns or negative impacts on my future SS payments?

If you were married for 10 years and did not remarry, you are entitled to 50% of his full benefit. But the amount is reduced if you claim before YOUR full retirement age. If you file for spousal benefits at 62, you’ll only receive 32.5% of your ex-spouse’s full retirement-age benefit instead of 50%.
Then at your own Full REtirement Age, you’ll receive the higher of what you were getting from your ex-spouse, or your own earned benefit. To find out the exact numbers and decide on the best claiming strategy, I suggest you go to MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com and pay teh $49 to get the exact answer.
