At 62 can I collect on my ex husbands SS, then at my full retirement age drop his SS payment and start collecting my own?

By taking SS early, you permanently reduce your own benefit. When you apply for your ex’s benefit, you are deemed to be taking the larger of your own or his. And it is reduced because you took it early! Don’t make an expensive mistake!
