Ask Terry Questions Social Security

Social Security

By Terry Savage on February 28, 2024 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I have been getting Social Security Disability for 10 years. I recieve 1450 a month. If I retire, would I get more money? I have been working since I was 19 years old.

Terry Says

That depends on your age. I’d suggest you ask Social Security what your benefit would be — but they seem to always get it wrong. Instead, can you get someone to help you go to the best software calculator — www.MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com. It costs $39. But at least you’ll know you’re getting the best answer.

And they’ll take into account things like health insurance which you might be getting via state Medicaid programs vs Medicare (assuming you qualify based on age).
