Would it be beneficial for me to wait for my full maturity of 50% of my husbands amount? I am 2 years away from that age.

Absolutely!  Go to and ask for your statement of benefits.  I’m assuming you didn’t work and aren’t going to qualify on your own record.  But if you did work and contribute to SS, you need to check your own record.  It ALWAYS pays to wait until the latest date to claim yo9ur benefits (unless you are in very poor health) because that becomes the base on which all future cost-of-living increases are paid.
