Ask Terry Questions Social Security

Social Security

By Terry Savage on December 27, 2024 | Wild Card

Terry, I took your advice and held off taking social security until I turn 70 (February, 2025). I will be applying in January, with my first payment coming in March. I heard that I will have the option of getting my 66.2 monthly amount, plus all the payments I could’ve received going back to 66.2. Is this correct, and if it is, should I opt for this or just take my age 70 monthly benefit?

Terry Says

No idea what you’re talking about. Just tell them you want your full AGE 70 benefit!
