Turning 62 in May how much in advanced do i need to sign up for social security??
My wife carries the insurance.

Why are you signing up for SS at age 62? It means a huge and permanent reduction in benefits! Can’t you afford to wait until your full retirement age — 67. That would be the smart move, since your base benefit increases 8% a year for waiting.
I don’t know why you mentioned insurance. Health insurance? You won’t qualify for Medicare til age 65 anyway. That has nothing to do with when you take SS.
You may want to retire from your job at 62 — but please use your savings and wait to take SS til age 67.
