social security back pay
I applied for spousal support from my ex spouses account, met all requirements and submitted all required paperwork in September of 2022. I was at full retirement age as was he. (67) I was previously collecting off of my own. I was given an increase to his benefit in December of 2023 with no explanation, just an increase in payment. Am I not entitled to payment from when applied?

They are so messed up at SS. I wouldn’t try to get back the extra money from those 14 months. Just be glad you’re getting it!
