Social Security benefits

By Terry Savage on December 20, 2024 | Financial Planning / Retirement

Hello, Both my wife and I are 70 years old. She started getting Social Security payments at 60 (approximately $2,000 a month). I started at 65 getting just over $3000 a month. Is it true that after my retirement she could have applied for receiving similar benefits as I do? If that’s the case, can she still apply? Thanks

Terry Says

Well, you BOTH made a mistake of taking SS before your full retirement age. So both of your benefits are permanently reduced. Go to www.MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com to learn your alternatives now.
