Social Security benefits
I am a retired certified school nurse receiving a TRS pension. I was born in 1958 and recently turned 66 and 8 months-my full retirement age. Should I apply for Social Security now, or wait until they have recalculated others who are owed back $ due to WEP and GPO? I have the required quarters to receive SS. But my husband receives a much higher SS payment than I would be eligible for, I think. Not sure what to do.

You don’t get your husband’s full benefit until he dies! You do get half his benefit — IF it is larger than your own.
Go to www.MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com to see what the benefit is that you would receive now — or if you wait until age 70. And how it compares with your husband’s benefit.
It’s worth the $50 fee — and you’ll for sure get the correct answer.
