Ask Terry Questions Social security for non-working spouse

Social security for non-working spouse

By Terry Savage on July 17, 2021 | Financial Planning / Retirement

My wife never worked because she was a homemaker for my kids and a care taker for her mother. Will she get any Social Security? Thanks.

Terry Says

Even if your spouse didn’t work she/he may be entitled to as much as half your benefit, without diminishing your own benefit.
