Social Security for spouse

By Terry Savage on August 25, 2021 | Financial Planning / Retirement

My wife is almost 62 and I am 64. If she files for her own Social Security at 62, will she be penalized in the future when it becomes time to file for spousal benefits from my work history? I don’t plan on retiring soon. Will she still get half of what I am projected to get?

I’ve stopped giving specific advice about Social Security decisions because there are too many individual variables. Instead I advise you to go to Larry Kotlikoff’s website — https://maximizemysocialsecurity.com//
