Social Security – “New Account”?
Can’t tell if this is spam or not. I got an email allegedly from SSA: “To access Social Security online services, including my Social Security, you will need to create a Login.gov or ID.me account.”
I went to what I think is the SSA website, and it says the same thing.
1. Is this legit?
2. I won’t ask why there are two choices (regular WGN listener and following your work with SSA Hell). IF this is legit, is one better over the other?
I admit, what makes me suspicious that it’s all spam is sign up for ‘one or the other’. I’m doing nothing until I know. If I don’t hear from you, I’ll try to call in next Wednesday.

ALL government agencies are transitioning to a new secure log-in system. So even if you have the traditional MySSA account, it is time to create the new one. Yes, this is legit!
