Social Security/Pension
I work construction for 30+ years and paid into Social Security. I now work for the city of Chicago Park, District and Social Security is not deducted. Will I be able to collect Social Security when I am retire, along with my pension from the park district. Or will my pension be deducted from my Social Security payment

Your pension means they will REDUCE but not eliminate your SS benefit. BUT, since you worked at least 30 years for private employers, you are EXEMPT from this reduction!

But SS is such a mess at record-keeping that it might not get your benefits right anyway! At least, that’s what we hav efound.
Suggest you go to www.MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com to get the exact correct amount of SS you should be receiving when you retire. Then you can fight back if they try to lower it!!
