social security — when to start on time
I am turning 66 1/2 on June 29, 2024. When would be the best time to file for social security. My birthdate is 12/29/57. My situation is that I have to file pretty quick.

You should apply now, but specify that your benefits not be paid before your Full Retirement Age, which is at 66 years and 6 months, thus in june of 2024. BUT you won’t get your first check until July, as SS always pays one month in arrears.
