Still have not gotten my tax refund and info on the tax website
Hi Terry I listen to you all the time on WGN 720 as I am driving around making sales call.
Here is my situation:
We filed are taxes electronically the end of Feb with our accountant (Married Joint return). Our accountant notified us of some new taxing rules changes in March. He said it would be better for us to file married singlely. So we filed an emanded return electronic my husband had to pay a greater amount but then I should receive a return which in the long run saved us a thousand dollars.
After filing the emanded return our accountant says I need to send in a paper form with my signature for some reason. Which I did, certificed mail I have a receipt that it was received on 4/19. I have check where’s my refund and there still is no info on me. I have reached out to my accountant and he says it may take a while yet. Is there anything else I should be doing than waiting. I understand completely if you do not answer I am hoping you have some guidance or suggestion beyond waiting. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Well, your accountant is a jerk! This was absolutely the WRONG year to file an amended return — even if it saved you some money. He should have figured that out in the first place!
I’m assuming you are talking about your FEDERAL tax return. So now you are caught in IRS limbo. And there is nothing to do but WAIT! It could take many more months until you hear from them. You can check your return status on the IRS website, but it is rarely updated.
