Still no 2019 refund

By Terry Savage on April 19, 2021 | Wild Card

IRS held my refund of 5980.00 because I didnt do my taxes in 2015. So, I went back, and did them and owed 804.00. They told me they would deduct the amount owed from my 2019 refund. They confirmed they have both 2015 and 2019 in their system. And should release the remaining refund within 90 days. That was 6 mths ago! I got my 2020 refund, and stimulus checks.. But no mail, ph call, or email on the 2019 matter! I’m still owed around 5100.00! Terry, can you help at all?? All I get is shuffled from one IRS agent to the next, after holding for 2 and a half hours. And none of them can give me an answer?

I passed your question on to an IRS spokesperson and he suggested you contact the Taxpayer Advocate’s office for help. Here’s a link to the site.

Or better yet use THIS LINK — and tell them you have an “open case” (which you sort of do, ,so have your earlier documents ready) and maybe that will get some action.

Of course, they are jammed with all the stimulus payments going out.
