Ask Terry Questions Stimulus Check

Stimulus Check

By Terry Savage on May 17, 2020 | Wild Card

I was one of the unfortunate taxpayers who filed 2018 taxes through turbo tax and have been getting “payment status not available” on the IRS website. Still haven’t received my stimulus as of May 16, 2020. I decided to file my 2019 taxes through a CPA on May 11th and plugged in my direct deposit account information with the return. Will this clear the May 13th deadline IRS imposed to put in account information or should I expect to receive a paper check in the mail?Note that I haven’t received any notification that the IRS has accepted or processed my return. Thank you and keep doing what you are doing! God Bless!

This is a tossup at this point as to which return will trigger the payment! The only thing I know for sure is that you WILL receive a check. It didn’t have anything to do with filing via TurboTax. It’s like waiting for your luggage at an airport carousel. Someone’s bag has to be last! Keep watching both your direct deposit account and your mailbox.
