Ask Terry Questions Stimulus check and child support

Stimulus check and child support

By Terry Savage on March 30, 2020 | Wild Card

Hi Terry, I have a question regarding my deadbeat ex husband who owes over 37k in back child support which I believe he hasn’t filed taxes in several years due to the fact that I have not received any intercept return money from his tax returns. This being said…will he receive a stimulus check? If so, will it be intercepted and sent to me considering what he owes in back support.

Terry Says

The law excepts deadbeat parents from receiving a stimulus check. But they won’t send it to you. Want to fully disclose his name –and yours — in public? You have hit my true “hot spot” — deadbeat dads! In fact, I was instrumental many years ago in getting child support payments sent through the State of Illinois.
So if you are willing to go public, I will use you as an example in a commentary on this portion of the law! And you can share it publicly. How will he like that?

My blog questions don’t post with names. So if you want to go forward, pls send me an email to Terry@TerrySavage.com.
