Stimulus check for deceased
Both of my parents passed away in 2019 and we received a Stimulus check for them do we have to send that back or does it go into the estate? I thought I had heard we could keep it, but the bank is saying we have to send it back. Thank you in advance.

I talked to the IRS, and they said deposit it into the estate account. There is no way to send it back anyway. And the filed jointly for the year, and the law says that having done that, they are entitled to the payment. I was told this is NOT like keeping Social Security checks after a person dies.
