Stimulus Check for SSI recipients to assisted living
My brother receives SSI. We’ve arranged to have his SSI check direct deposited into the account of the assisted living facility that he lives in. Will his stimulus check be deposited into the account of the facility? And if so can we request that he receive a paper check instead of direct deposit? Otherwise his stimulus check will be totally confiscated by the assisted living facility. Please tell us what we can do so that he receives his stimulus amount.

This is a GREAT question – -and I don’t believe the government is yet set up to discriminate in this situation. They are just getting started and the default is to deposit check where SS or SSDI is sent. I promise I will make an effort to find out about this as you are not the only one in this situation!
