Stimulus check — which year’s taxes?
Have filed both 2018 and 2019 returns.
2018 income would disqualify me/us got a check. 2019 considerably less would qualify. No check to date and checking on line simply says still processing my info. ( 2 months now)
Your thoughts
Thankyou

Two possibilities — Hopefully, the just haven’t gotten around to sending you a check yet. OR, they may have reviewed your 2018 return and decided NOT to send you a check based on income. But don’t panic. If that happened, then when you file your 2020 return next April, you can apply for a $1200 credit against taxes owed, based on the stimulus check you didn’t get in 2019. I know that’s complicated –and you wouldn’t actually get the money which you need now, only a credit next year. But that’s the way it works. So keep watching for a check in the mail — or a debit card in a plain white envelope (which they are using instead of printing some stimulus checks — just a random trial).
